Giving a voice to children who struggle to communicate.

Inclusive Education Project

The Project

Do you or someone you know have special needs or a disability? Have you been through a special needs school or were you part of a mainstream school? What are your experiences of those environments and how did you feel you were treated?

Inclusion in Education are currently researching a 'Big Lottery' funded booklet exploring experiences of people with special needs or disabilities in the education system and they would like to hear from you. This booklet will be published in electronic format and made available for downloading free from the internet. For further information about how you can make a written contribution to this booklet, please contact:

An Event

To launch this booklet we are organising an event with a panel discussion also supported by the Big Lottery Fund. The panel includes individuals who have been through mainstream and/or special needs education, as well as individuals working to promote inclusive education. Their experiences will help us address the questions and concerns surrounding inclusive education. The date of this event will be in the early summer of 2010 and this information will be available by visiting www.inclusionineducation.com

To be put on the mailing list for further information and dates, please email inclusionevent@fastmail.fm. and write "Education Event" in the subject line.

Both these projects aim to promote the benefits of inclusive education for children with special needs and the understanding that education is a human right as outlined by UNESCO. We are grateful to GlobalNet21 [http://www.globalnet21.org/] who are promoting and supporting this project.
