New Accredited Training dates announced

The 2009/10 dates for our popular Accredited Training courses are now available. These four training units, developed in partnership with our sister centre ACE Centre North, can be completed as standalone courses which will be valuable CPD for anyone working with people with communication difficulties (spoken or written) or with physical and coordination difficulties.

Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC) Unit

Dates in 2009/10: Nov 3, Jan 12, Mar 23, June 22

This is a blended learning course which combines four face-to-face training days with self-directed study and provides a thorough exploration of Augmentative and Alternative Communication systems. The training days focus on assessment and implementation issues for low, light and high tech communication systems.

This is a newly developed course which combines four face-to-face training days with self-directed study. The course provides a wide ranging and thorough exploration into the whole area of alternative access devices, software and systems. The training days will focus on the assessment and implementation issues for computer and communication aid access.

Recording using Symbols, Images, Sounds and Text Unit

This blended learning course comnines four face-to-face days at the ACE Centre with self-directed study. The course provides training on supportive software to record and retrieve information using symbols, images, sound and text. The training days will focus on the assessment for and implementation of supportive recording systems which facilitate the highest possible levels of participation and independence.
