Fourteen golf clubs to tee off for ACE

Young golfers from at least fourteen Oxfordshire golf clubs will be teeing off this summer to compete for the inaugural ACE Centre Junior Golf Challenge Cup. The competition will raise valuable funds for the ACE Centre Advisory Trust, a Headington-based charity that helps children who struggle to speak because of a disability.

Chris Allen (pictured below with the Challenge Cup), Junior organiser at Frilford Heath Golf Club and Tournament coordinator, said: “It’s great to see youngsters raising money for children less fortunate than themselves, I’m sure this will turn into a great annual event for junior golfers in Oxfordshire and surrounding counties”

Lena Curtis, Head of Fundraising at the ACE Centre said “It’s great that juniors will be doing something they enjoy and raising money through sponsorship at the same time. As 2009 is our Silver Jubilee we wanted to mark the occasion by doing something special, memorable and fun.”
